Republic Airways is the only example I can think of where the pilots came out without getting their contracts gutted by the bankruptcy judge. I'm not personally sure if that's all over and done with though. Everyone else took some hits so the company's cost structure could get in line with what the courts wanted.. To blame the Pinnacle guys for controlling their own destiny versus leaving it up to a judge is a bit harsh.
What is that saying again? Never criticize someone until you've walked in their shoes? The dynamics's of an airline bankruptcy are way too complex
For the young and inexperienced in this regard to do Monday morning quarterbacking. And there's no proof to say that it's damaged the regional industry today. People still believe we as regional pilots have all this pull. We are still contract lift. The pendulum is turning, but I don't believe it was slowed down by any bankruptcies
