Default How to find a pair as a Safety Pilot

Hey there,

I'm going to be building some time locally, 20ish hours, and am looking for any way to cut costs. I heard about acting as a safety pilot for people looking for some IFR time. I understand the process but I'm wondering where I should go to find my pair?

I live in Las Vegas. I'll be talking to the FBOs here this week about their rental costs and schedules so I'll ask them for advice. There is really only one flying club in town. They do offer discounted rates but with the membership fee it's pretty much a wash. The membership requires a one year commitment so I'd have to spend hundreds of dollars just to maybe find a partner through them.

So, aside from standing at the airport entrance with a "Safety Pilot For Hire" sign, what suggestions do you all have? And before you say it, I have two kids I have to care for so I can't actually stand there with a sign...
