I'd like to see the company come out with a better explanation of why the hiring has deceased (TK issues?) and how we're going to end with 5000-6000 more pilot's (buy a another airline).
I know a few folks in the hiring dept, flew with one last week. I asked the specific question about whether the recent fleet news, 737 deferment etc was in anyway related to the recent hiring shortfalls. Everyone has said don't read too much into it. The IAHTK move to DEN, construction, consolidation etc at DENTK has created their largest bottle neck. That's all there is too it.
When you see sims sitting around empty, or being leased out to third parties, then we can worry.
As far as the 17k+ numbers... I think everyone is in agreement, regardless of your tin foil hat size, the only way to get there is to buy someone.
