You have to look at the experience level of most of those pilots. With targeted selection the airline is selecting pilots with less time than most other carriers. Please feel free to verify any of this. Its not hard. On one hand they state it doesn't matter if new pilots leave as training costs do not outweigh the length of a career but on the other hand the choose not to hire well qualified pilots because their length of stay will be substantially shorter than the 3-4000 pilot. Its the airlines right to hire who it wants but clearly most captains would prefer to have experience in the right seat. As most lower time pilots are placed on the 190 the mentality of a new hire who would have difficulty being hired elsewhere is one of gratitude and appreciation. This is not a bad thing but they come in blind to the reality of what jetblue is. The hope is that they see "the light" but that comes over time.

Make no mistake there is nothing wrong with enjoying your job or helping out but considering what this airline does to its employees and the blatant lies and misinformation it spreads the above and beyond mentality does rub a lot of people the wrong way.
