Until the pilots have an exclusive place you are stuck with the rules that govern all other work groups. FAs Airport ops and others all stay there so you are stuck with a blanket rule for everyone. (Not defending just saying)
If they started letting people in from the outside just think what the FAs and even some pilots would do with that. It would be totally different if you were on say a Hilton property but you are in JetBlue world so they are going to let that happen.
This is one of the many reasons the pilots were against the lodge.
Also this one rule for all thing is another issue here that is changing slowly. This airline was founded on we are all equal and as we all know that does not really work. Part of the reason for the frustration on here is not only are we building a union and a CBA from scratch we are also fundamentally changing the way the company deals with pilots(amazingly the company is not playing along....sarcasm)and the culture, add to that some guys that don't agree or like jetblue the way it was and you get guys who are rightfully upset.
I still think JetBlue has a solid future but you can see the contracts of the big guys and get an idea about how much work we have to do and it will not be easy.
