Just to back that up, early this year a bud was trying to VSP and his package was held up at the group. He was deployed and asking me to see WTF was up. Sure enough, held up at Group--I had no idea what procedures were but then got the guidance that SQ/GP/WG CC had zero say in process; I cut and pasted said guidance into email to GP exec and he was in a car driving around base in no time flat. I ended up in screaming match with our acting CC who was offended when I told him he was wrong and had made a mistake that opened us up to a perfectly valid IG compaint. Then again, he was a douchebag. Anyway, dude got out and good on him.
