Young pilots need to remember that airline pilots were hired with a commercial license and with the auto pilots of today that is all you really need.
We need to get back to the days when pilots stood together and ensured they were paid for the responsibility they have. I can tell you the flying public has no idea that pilots "volunteer" to work for minimum wage. It is sad but it is still happening.
There is a difference between minimum qualifications and competitive qualifications - solely driven by supply and demand.
