I'll be in the 10 Jan class, this is what they just sent for the drop:
737/FO:
5 LAX/D
6 LGA/D
6 MIA/I
320/FO:
7 LAX/I
10 MIA/I
190/FO:
6 PHL/I
I have a few *easy* questions that I hope the kind forum members would help answer concerning QOL of the 737/D vs 320/I at LAX:
Given what happened in the past and what you think might happen with the PHX reductions what plane would offer better QOL in terms of:
1) What plane can I hold LCR the fastest? How about a line?
2) What plane reserves are used more often?
3) What plane offers more efficient trips?
4) How much domestic flying does the "/I" division actually do from LAX?
My facts and priorities:
-I live in Hawaii and will need to commute from there for at least 18 months
-I want to maximize my time home and minimize the pain of commute, I'd drop trips down to about 50-60 hours a month if I could
-After 18 months, I'll probably move to LAX and want to fly at least guarantee
-I'm ex AF, now ANG with a E-175 background as well
-Long term goal is long-haul international with the option for the opposite
I've gleaned enough info off the forum concerning MIA 320 vs 737 already. If I'm forced to go east coast, I might even consider the E190 considering the movement there. My biggest concern is that the reserves are probably very minimal and thus not much flexibility for dropping trips once I do get a line.
