On a Navy application: Have you ever driven a car fast for thrill seeking purposes? Hell yes, I want to be a pointy nosed gun slinger, you tell me. Have you ever driven a car recklessly for thrill seeking purposes? Hell no, my figure 8's in a dirt field in dad truck were well controlled and I won't be unsafe.
Airline applications: Aim for being an independent thinking leader that will accept input from all sources and works well with others. But, you dont NEEEED to be the leader, there's a proper time to follow established policy's SOP and to follow senior leadership. AND you're not afraid to speak up because you are true to your convictions. You honor the tried and true and are not looking to be overly innovative in the cockpit. (Established policys work). But you can be innovative in thinking your way through complex problems i.e. customer/co-worker related issues. Thoughts...?
