It's not that we couldn't afford the extra 2 dollars per share, it just didn't make sense to pay 4 billion dollars. The airline was never worth that much. Alaska desperately needed to keep us off the west coast, that's the only reason they paid so much.
There are no articles saying we are desperately trying to compete with them. Sorry, try again.
