Correct me if I'm wrong but if you pick up on an off day as a reservist (non VDA or RSA), it doesn't go above guarantee. So, honestly, it would be foolish to do so.
It's 12 or 13 days off. And just because one bids reserve doesn't imply that one picks up VDA's or RSA's
