Not really though, because you are assuming everyone of those 10% also wants to work in this exact same industry as the other 90% and that they all have their applications in. That's just not the case. I was an Aerospace engineering major and females in that field were rare, and a minority female were rarer still. It doesn't mean the university was biased against females for aerospace engineering acceptance. For every 100 total students maybe 3 were minority females, even though the general population could be like 25% are minority females. In this case, there just weren't minority females applying to this field. So you certainly can't say you'd expect 25% of those spots to be minority female because the reality was there just weren't even that many applying to it. And yes, affirmative action is bull****.
