I suppose so, if we are determined to buy new aircraft very soon. However, mgmt keeps saying we are actively looking at the used aircraft market. LATAM and Hawaiian are two carriers I know of who are currently withdrawing their 767 fleets, which are younger than our oldest -300s. Buying a handful of used aircraft might allow us to retire/part out our oldest birds and buy time for a clean sheet MOM down the road.
What I thought was really interesting was what wasn't said. He didn't say anything about the future of the 757 (so maybe it has already been decided). He didn't say we were in talks on narrowbodies or a NSNB either.
I don't have any special insight into our fleet plans, I just enjoy reading the tea leaves and seeing what comes to pass.
