I think people are reading a bit much into it... really, the biggest change is confirming when it's time to press the clear key. That's really what it boils down to. It shouldn't distract the PF from being PF much, just keeps them in the loop a bit more.
It aligns us with the worldwide Airbus standard on conducting an ECAM... we were the weirdos before we changed to that!
If that's the case the video was poorly done. I'll reserve further judgement until I get to do it in the sim. A few LCAs I've talked to don't like it either.
