You know the wedge is the Union, and always has been. Pilots on both sides know this, and know as long as there is a union in place, nothing is going anywhere. Kind of like beating a dead horse I suppose.
Hindsight being 20/20, I would probably put money on if OO had to do it all over again, the purchase of ASA and XJet would not have happened. However, that is my opinion only...
No, I think you were spot on. They wanted the market share and thought over time we would drop the union. Didn't happen so now they are doing the only thing they can. You guys can get along without a union and that's great. I like that we have a CBA that has compensation and benefits contained within it that can't be changed by the company without going through the union. That is my security blanket. Now, there is no security from being shrunk into nonexistence, but I knew that going in and I have accepted it.
