Spend 5+ years in negotiations only to have to vote down a polished turd and then have no hope for another TA anytime soon. So if that's true, we're looking at 5 to 7 years of negotiations.
This guy gets it. Softpayman is the frog in the pot and management is heating the water just a little at a time. He won't see what's actually happening until it's way too late.
