Not this go around. The competitive times change based on the number of apps received and the overall pool of applicants. 3000-3500 is considered competitive this go around, that is the information I received just a week ago from someone involved in pilot recruiting. We have some folks in training right now with no 121 or turbojet experience or college degrees. Not saying they are bad pilots, but the landscape is changing.
They are also targeting the "just happy to be here" types who are either blissfully unaware or are indifferent that we are compensated 30-40% less than our peers.
