The fact is each negotiation is it's own process, none will be identical to another. Both sides will use similar tactics as others have used before though. Saying 5-7 years is just a way to be inflammatory, it's a wild ass guess. I haven't heard union leadership say anything of the sort.
There are major airline management tactics and mindset, and then there are regional airline management tactics and mindset, we seem to have the latter. "You are all too expensive, we cannot be competitive and get new flying (growth)." Heard it for the better part of a decade. I can bet on my pet horse Sandy that we won't even have 3/4 of the sections TA'd by the end of 2017. Hope I'm wrong, but it's scary similar to the negotiations at my previous carrier.
