It's def a puzzler. On one hand, Kirby says we need more RJs more tactically positioned (like not flying a Trash-8 between IAD and EWR). On the other hand the Cseries and ERJ economics don't make sense according to him as well being flown by mainline crews, and maintained by our techs.
Seems to me scope choke is doing exactly what it's supposed to.
He wants the CS just not mainline flying it, look at what he said at AA. Just think if the CEOs can do virtual airlines for long haul, south and north of the border and CS 100/300 for domestic in the regionals. Then they don't need expensive guys like you mainline guys. That means more money for them via bonus from increased profit margins all which will be sold as cheaper tickets for consumers and better return for investors which in 15 years will only be the rich as the middle class will cease. They wont get CS100/300 in the regionals or at or near regional rates till the next crisis then the will push this in return for saving the B Fund, work rules etc. America is only getting poorer.
