I've read the scheduling handbook and still have a question about rankings on the list. I'm assuming that if you're at the top of the list you're first to go. For instance, if I fall into the 5 days available bucket I will be grouped with other 5 days available folks. In my case there are 4 others. I have the highest raw score, the most short calls and the lowest seniority. Is that why I'm at the top of the 5 days available bucket?
I also wonder how, when there are 30 people on reserve in base I'm the one that gets picked for a 3 day trip in another base that also has a large amount of reserves.
What I'm gathering is reserve "rules" should be viewed more as "guidelines". Either way, it's not like it's a hard job, especially this time of year. Lots of time home, so life is good.
Yes. It goes by inverse seniority within bucket.
The out of base stuff is hard to predict. They could not have gotten it due to rest or countless other reasons. I feel your pain though. My last short call I thought I was just going then coming back home and I got tagged with an out of base 4 day
