You do realize the US flourished for two centuries before CA agriculture started up right? Good luck getting all those red rural areas to secede with CA. Or NorCal...aka The State Of Jefferson.
Agriculture in California only started 40 years ago?
Good luck getting the rest of country to devote and develope farm land to replicate what California produces. Most of which wouldn't even be possible to mass produce due to climate and geological conditions.
Then add in other commodities such as oil (3rd largest producer behind Texas and North Dakota) and other mineral deposits and the rest of the USA would be in a world of hurt without California's farm and land products.
The USA needs California, and California needs the rest of the USA.
