The only airplane immune to this phenomenon is the 787.
It uses an electric pressurization system, whereas every other jet flying today uses a bleed air system.
So if you smell wet socks while riding in back of Sparky, put your shoes back on.
Fortunately, I have not experienced this. But if it is a byproduct of commercial jet design, why did I not even HEAR of one instance of this on the CRJ, which I flew for a decade?
