In addition, I don't know what kind of Navy positions would be available in Japan, I do remember some friends working at USFJ. Perhaps something at USFK, if you wanted to go that far... The billets are usually located at the Joint Commands since they are funded for Reservists by the JCS and not from the Services themselves. From the AF side, most of the overseas positions at IMA billets. I don't know of any traditional Reserve drilling units outside of the Army in Germany, I'm sure they may be there...

The Navy has a large presence in Japan, with multiple bases. Based on the fact that they are always trying to get me to go over there to help out, I would assume that there would be plenty of demand for paid navy reserve types. Since they need the help, I'm sure they would also be willing to stick you in a stateside billet in a reserve unit tasked with supporting a Japan command...you could then just drill at the supported command (which is what they wish the stateside guys could do anyway).
