Three examples of things mgmt has said that seemed legit at the time with a couple airlines that have foolishly employed my dumb arse: 1. ORD 175 base, with a corresponding bid that was canceled after a week or two (Envoy). 2. A Dash-8-200 base in PHX taking over for Mesa in 2009, this one was given life by the DO (PDT). 3. A CRJ DFW base, with a bid that ran and was awarded, with beaucoup senior pilots finally being able to bid back to DFW on current equipment...it was subsequently canceled after about two weeks.
I admire your optimism and hope that it works out for your guys, but with the fluid nature of the airline business - and especially a Parker led airline business, I would be seeking other alternatives. Back yourself up, and by the time May rolls around, you'll know one way or another. (Maybe)
