Our contract, such as it is, is a collective bargaining agreement not an individual contract of employment. We are employees, not contractors. Think about that when you are pressured to waive the contract or consider waiving the contract.

I 100% agree, however good luck with everyone standing up for themselves for the protections afforded to us in the CBA. Most guys I ask questions about the contract respond with something along the lines of "I haven't read that much of it, I'm not sure about that." Not to mention the company flat out denying rights that are explicitly written in black and white with 0 room for interpretation.
I think the company will be surprised to find that if this BIG deal comes through how many people will take the money and still run. Good luck finding the 400+ guys they will need to get this place back in the swing of normal operations.
