Ofcouse Delta has the money to pay you guys the same as Delta pilots, if they were going to pay you the same as Delta pilots, why bother keeping the WO around? They would just bring everything in house. IF you can't do it for what Delta wants to pay, they'll find someone else.
Exactly, I think that regional pilots forget about how important scope is (and that they have NO control over it). Mainline pilots gave up scope in order to keep their airline profitable and keep higher wages by outsourcing. It created an entire industry that employed tens of thousands of pilots and gave them experience. Pay could have definitely been better but there wasn't a need. Pilots lined up down the street just to work at a below average paying regional. Things are slowly changing for the better!
