You have to be in UPT by your 30th b-day. There are waivers but almost always they go to guys with prior service. If you go to an ANG interview board you are stacking the deck against yourself. Most would pick someone not age critical so as not to create more work for themselves or risk the slot going unfilled if the waiver is not granted.
