You can't bypass a displaced pilot so you will not see that option. I doubt you will see many retire either. What you will see is a lot of pilots going out on disability. There is a window for the next few years where disability will be far more lucrative option than even a pilot with a full NWA retirement. Many will take the displacement and wait until a class date begins. They will go out sick at that point and between sick and DPMA pick up full pay for 15 months and then revert to disability boosted an extra 4 grand a month by the PS and retro.
