If they do announce something worthwhile in the next few days, weeks, months, it will potentially open the doors for a flood of new hires. Same thing that happened at PSA and PDT.

And as for AA suing AWAC, unlikely. They already do half the departures they did just a few months ago but there's no word of any lawsuits floating around.
It's going to take more than just a deal to do some flying. The flood gates at the WOs didn't open until the management through serious coin at the new hires. Before the money showed up things were at a trickle...and that was a year ago.
