IMO, the 190 may be on a short life line.

Don't flame me now! I've been a 190 guy since the beginning and like the plane. Just repeating logic. ...which if it's logical will never happen in airline worlds!
Copa and AeroMexico both fly the 190, so I'm not sure about the type falling off the face of the earth, or at least the hemisphere.

I agree that a new type will be needed for the future to fill the role.

Right now the Brazilians and Embraer aren't too happy with Bombardier and the Canadian government. I don't think Embraer wants to lose a big North American customer to Bombardier, so that may play a part in determining the future of the RJ.

As for no orders beyond 2023, that's quite a ways off and is getting close to the time a replacement for the 737 and 320 is expected to be introduced. I'm sure you could convert current orders whenever a new type is introduced, but jetblue is the company that places 320 orders knowing they'll concert them to 321s to keep the down payments lower.

A lot of the 320s that are being refreshed will be getting ready for retirement during the middle of the next decade. Mandatory retirements start to increase steadily around that time as well. It will be an interesting time if jetblue is still around then.

Just some random thoughts for a Tuesday afternoon.
