I believe this to be a violation of USSERRA. You only have to give notice and that can be in any form. If your tour is over 30 days, you might also have to provide official documentation if requested from the employer.

One could make an argument that entering every bit of military leave in Delta's IT system is a potential OPSEC issue or indicator.

If this goes to court, a judge or jury may rule it isn't unreasonable for Delta to require that their military employees do this.
