#1 can be shut down as long as the APU is up and running. Obviously or the plane goes dark

Procedure is:
Eng 2 is shut down as soon as APU is AVAIL, to provide for secondary/redundant fire protection.

At the gate, ENG 1 is shut down when GPU is hooked up OR APU is up providing power.

Perhaps I just misunderstood what you were saying, but we do not keep #1 and the APU up until the GPU is attached.
