Not a golfer but they had a very nice gym, food somewhere 24/7, and even a skeet/sporting clays range. You could get a room during the week for 25-40 bucks. Walls were thin (noisy) and they charged for internet and gym use, but the pool was great and overall it was pretty fun.

When Katrina hit Biloxi it seemed like they got a bit of spike for a while 05-07. Then came the great recession. I booked rooms and found out they closed one of the two hotels completely during the week and only used one (the Veranda). Now abandoned, it looks like a post apocalypse movie setting.

I gotta say it was fun while it lasted. Maybe 35-40 minutes to AOC and some nights I won enough to pay for a week's stay. Of course, there were some nights I probably overpaid too, but gamblers only remember the wins right?

I still think there are similar good deals down there. You likely need a car, but its a fun change of pace. Its not just the gambling...its a nice look at some Delta countryside and a glimpse into the poor past of rural Mississippi.
