It is hard to believe I am actually saying this, but your future is better by going to a regional airline and staying away from Frontier and Spirit until they step up with a contract worthy of your skills as a pilot.
Spirit has fantastic work rules compared to any regional out there.
For both Frontier and Spirit, the Airbus type rating and time in a heavier, more comfortable airplane to fly is more valuable than grinding it out in a CRJ/ERJ.
You will not make more money at a regional, maybe in year 1-2, but what about after that? the ULCCs pull away pretty quick and leave the regionals in the dust.
Both Spirit and Frontier are working new contracts that will take some time and will be hard-fought, but will leave them both in very good positions for their pilots.
If the economy tanks, where would you rather be? flying the CRJ into Aberdeen, SD or flying a bus from ORD to FLL?
