throughout my aviation career, I have avoided commuting, but that is no longer the case. As a result, I am completely ignorant of what the jumpseat is like on most aircraft. As a jumpseater, I am usually the last one on and therefore all the overhead bins are taken. I know that I could always ask the crew if there is room in the flight deck or closet for my bag, but seeing as I get on right as the door is about to close, I really don't want to add to the confusion with a last minute checked bag.

For those familiar with this, I think it would be good to get a database on what aircraft can accept bags for a jumpseater.
