Not correct

The way that you do training has more to due with the timing of when the aircraft came into service (ie: the 200 was the first to be flown at your particular airline, then they got 700's and then 900's).

So it is cheaper to have the training set up that way, sine they already had a 200 training program, they just made a differences training so you could move up to the 700. Go-jet(there the only airline i know who exclusively has 700's) only has 700's so they most likely don't have a 200 program, just a 700 program.

They could develop an initial program for the 700, but you would have to get it certified and the such by the FAA, so it is a money and time issue.
