Right, but eventually it all comes out in the wash. For every guy that retires early, there is a guy who won't retire in the scheduled year. So its not like it'll always be double. We're finally just now recovering from the stagnation effects of age 65, and the recovery won't be fully realized until the peak numbers hit. But once they do, the numbers will get back to normal or very close to it.
But there are also people who have not been hired, and who themselves will have an early exit (death, disability, leave for another airline or just walk away). Some of it may come out in the wash, but yearly losses will never be exclusively just mandatory retirements.
