Judging by the tone of your post, you think SkyWest is quite superior. But really, SkyWest has bases. And that's important to some people, surely. But the original comment was that if you don't care about bases, PDT is the way to go.

Or maybe I'm missing something that makes SkyWest the clear choice over those? If so, please, do explain.
Stability. Growth, ownership of their own airframes, cash in the bank. Alaska is leasing the Jets from SkyWest to fly at Horizon, no Kool Aid flow which can disappear from underneath you if the parent company wants. Benefits on all of their partner airlines. They have never furloughed a pilot.
Good management is hard to come by. Yes an AA wholy owned is a good place to go, but why do the Original Eagle pilots seem to have a chip on their shoulder, as well as seem to be willing to bypass their flow given an opportunity at DL or UA? I'm not saying that an AA wholy owned is a bad choice in this market, but if the music stops or something worse would you prefer to work at an airline that has never furloughed, or end up on the street? AE now Envoy has furloughed, around 2012 when all the others were hiring.
