I was curious if anyone currently working at Skywest could give me any details on the IAH domicile. I know they operate crj200s and 700s and are pretty senior with FOs. Are there any plans to close the IAH base? I heard flying was slowing down there. Also, how long is reserve looking for the 175? Just lookin at my options to live in domicile vs commuting, and how hard a commute might be.
I recently flew with an FO based in IAH that has been here almost two years. With the base shrinking he's on reserve and not breaking guarantee. He has to travel out of domicile to pick up other trips to make extra money.
As a new hire I would not plan on ever being based in IAH unless Mesa loses their flying with United. And it doesn't look like that is happening.
