And just for fun, take that same 6 figure and put it into a typical investment vehicle (even a semi-conservative one). Most degrees can never, ever, come close to beating that in the long run.

Education and college aren't necessarily the same thing.
And since the forum topic is already well over the horizon...

We can attribute those outrageous college costs to easy-to-secure government loans. Colleges know what the "average" student can secure in loans and then sets their tuition under that cap. Imagine how much "free" college would cost the US taxpayers.
