I've had exactly the same experience. If it is such a hassle, why do it? Just same yourself the aggravation, and don't. If they want us to use it, it will get fixed.
Use it for official business only. United.com to crew planning for a question about a COLA or to training scheduling or approvals/confirmations from usource claims, etc. If you use your personal email to send your latest medical certificate to the CPO admin they now have it and I'd rather them not.

It also comes in handy if another employee wants to contact you (lost item, scheduling coordination, etc) they can look up the email in Flying Together and get in contact with you. I understand that buying another tablet for personal use is expensive, ipads more so, but it amazes me how many folks use their company ipad for everything they do online, including personal and private.

Along the same lines, I think the use of the company ipad as a hotspot for your other devices may have similar privacy concerns.
