If you've flown both jets, fair enough...we can agree to disagree. But I've flown both and I'd say the automation on the 175 is vastly superior. To name a few: Automatic packs and bleeds, autotune for the localizer course and frequencies, don't have to set the field elevation for landing, auto tilt on the radar, automatic anti ice system test, no gust lock to mess with, and with the coupled VNAV you sit back and watch the plane cross all of the restrictions on an arrival at the correct altitudes and speeds. But I absolutely agree with the rest of your post, the 145 could definitely be easily handled single pilot and it's very automated itself. And man, it's a blast to fly. The 175 list is definitely going to stagnate very soon. And schedules trump equipment all day everyday.
