I think that it is inevitable that a second fleet type will join the mix. The Airbus is a terrific platform. It has better range than the 737 and the pax like it better. A second fleet type protects the company. If an AD grounds the 737, at least the company wouldn't be completely shut down.
If SW were to merge with Spirit (I think more likely than B6) I would not be surprised to see us keep the 320/321 and do away with the 319.
