If he is planning on applying there as well, then there is no problem with him asking if someone would split the referral bonus. Most places you have to have the referral in prior to the person applying, and most pilots apply at more than one airline. I wish I had a better understanding of the referrals prior to applying at places.

It is whole different question as to if someone is willing to refer someone they do not know. What is their credibility/referal worth to them?
