Everyone else is between 5-6hrs per calendar day. Jetblue might be per duty period but they are negotiating. Everyone averages except FedEx and maybe southwest but don't quote me on that.
So at spirit it's a low credit (4-4.5) bad. Per duty period not calendar day, bad. Average of the duty periods, bad. Triple whammy. Oh but man those are some good work rules.
Exactly. The 4 days off, transition conflict, and red/green language basically put a bandaid on our atrocious min calendar daily (we don't have one) and trip rig. The fact that they can build 72 hour 14 day off lines should clue you in that our work rules might not be as great as everybody here seems to think they are. Don't get me wrong, we do have some cherry work rules (schedule integrity and red/green being my personal favorites). But don't kid yourselves, our work rules aren't as good as you think they are. Junior guys at UAL/DAL are regularly getting PBS assigned 16+ days off lines with 80+ hours of credit at almost double our hourly rates + profit sharing and 16% DC to their 401k. All I see there is more time off and a lot more money than I'm making. I don't know about you, but outside of red/green and the schedule flexibility, I'm having a pretty hard time making the QOL argument around here anymore. The financial argument for this place clearly went out the window a long time ago.
