So...If that's the case whats the point of the verification? Does someone go to the doc and say "Last Tuesday I had a raging bout of allergies, but I'm fine now. I'm just paying you $100 to sign this note."

One of two things would happen.

1. The doc would say no way I'm putting my name behind something that I cannot verify was true and probably politely suggest you don't waste their time like this again. Well that sucks.

or

2. They sign the note to get you out of their hair and probably politely suggest you don't waste their time like this again. Great! Gettin Paid! But then whats the point of verification at all?

This new system will do nothing to curb sick use among anyone. The honest people will continue to call in sick when they are sick and the "abusers" will continue to work the system to their advantage under the new rules.
