We should really have a system in place that allows pilots to swap bases as long as it doesn't create a vacancy (1 for 1 swap). My last airline had this and it was really nice. The current setup we have allows management to downsize a base through attrition by not creating vacancies for those that have left. I would even be willing to run such a system on the union side of the house.
