I didn't actually say that everybody that is home schooled is a social leper. In my experience and my opinion you run a very high risk of depriving your child of very important social experience. It sounds like your parents were aware of those risks and took very responsible steps to assure that you had just as much opportunity to socialize with your peers as the next child. Very good on them. Unfortunately in my personal experience parents like yours that home school their children for the right reasons and do it responsibly and take great care not to deprive their child of any important skills necessary in life are few and far between.
