I'm all for cutting a flat percentage across everything to balance the budget and then going in and cutting things completely out, like EAS, and moving that money to the priorities of that administration.
The conversation is about EAS spending. $300 million spent annually is tiny when looking at the $600+ billion annual budget deficit.
We are spending 5% GDP on DOD with a 3% deficit. Germany is spending 2% on DOD and has a budget surplus. DOD is the leading factor to our budget deficit in this country, it's no secret. Social security is second to DOD.
The little areas add up but will never fully balance the budget without going after the biggest budget items.
