You have to train your captains to use the hot mic. I flew with a few guys that refuse to use them on the 900's because they "are not use to hearing themselves talk while flying." When I fly with these guys that don't like the hot mic I speak lower than they do. Then, tell them over the hot mic that you cant hear what they are saying. They always use the hot mic after that.
